Jane Irene Melander

Jane Irene Melander, 61, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in her home.

Jane was born on February 26, 1957, to James and Irene (Ohnstad) Melander in Fargo, ND. She attended elementary school at Gardner Elementary, and graduated from Grandin High School. She attended and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from MSUM in Moorhead, MN.

After graduation, Jane moved to Minneapolis to pursue her work as a Technical Writer. She was employed at Aid Association for Lutherans, Lutheran Brotherhood, and 3M. She moved back to Moorhead where she worked at MSUM in Information Technology.

She loved attending plays and enjoyed Star Trek, travelling, making stained glass creations, and she was active in local politics. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her nieces and nephews’ events.

Jane is survived by her brothers, Marlin (Denise) Melander and Kevin (Kim) Melander; niece, Jennifer (Deepak) Keshwani; nephews, Sam, Kaleb, and Kade Melander; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Irene.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
