Kent “Clark” Bruce Weisser died peacefully in his home in Moorhead on December 3rd after a seven-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Although PSP really cramped his style, he always stayed true to his nickname. He originally earned the nickname “Clark,” in reference to Clark-Kent (Superman), with his cousins on what we’ll call “harrowing” motorcycle adventures while living in Arizona. Over the years he went on to live up to this nickname in a variety of ways.
Clark was born as Kent in Fargo on March 19th, 1950, to Elmer and Margaret Weisser.
To his wife, Randi (married in 1974), and two girls, Rachel (Greg Locnikar) and Whitney, he was a valiant provider with a compassionate heart. To his brother, Keith (Nancy Weisser), he was “big bro,” a fierce protector. To his three sisters, Lynette, Sharon (Don Weaver), and Marie (Virgil Hamm) he was “little brother,” independent and loving. Most recently, Clark gained the title of “Gramps” to Flynn (5) and Esme (1) who will remember him through the stories told by those who loved him.
Clark had an artistic eye for carpentry. He used that skill throughout his life, in his profession as well as at home. He designed and built homes, crafted furniture, and created countless other beautiful works of art. He had a passion for motorcycles, fishing, golfing, the outdoors, and being on the water. Clark’s loyalty to his loved ones, big heart, subtle humor, and strong handshake are just a few of his many qualities that will be missed.
Fly high, Superman!
