Olive Iona Kosen

Olive Iona (Haroldson) Kosen, 92, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, in Eventide on Eighth Nursing Home, Moorhead, MN.

Olive was born on July 23, 1927, in Fargo, ND, to George and Elida (Bien) Haroldson. She grew up in North Fargo and graduated from Fargo High School in 1945. After her marriage to Davis B. Kosen on November 24, 1947, they moved to Dilworth and then built a new home in North Moorhead.

Olive worked as a bookkeeper at different businesses in Fargo/Moorhead. She was very active in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Her greatest joy was the lake home Davis and she built on Big Pelican Lake. Many family memories were made there.

Olive is survived by her children, Karel (Tony) Varriano, Dilworth, MN, and Davis S. (Kim) Kosen, Glyndon, MN; 6 grandchildren, Kristi (Peter) Hilton, Melissa Varriano, Cassie (Steve) Hoffman, Davey (Madi Korf) Kosen, Carrie (Billy) Brazier, and Amber (Cameron Stordahl) Kosen; 8 great-grandchildren, Lucy, Quincy, Mason, Kayleb, Mara, Kyson, Brighton, Rocky, and a new baby-to-be; and 2 sisters, Alta Johnson and Marlene Wahl. Olive is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elida; husband, Davis; grandson, Chad Varriano; 3 sisters, Elaine Brock, Georgie Johnson, and Cassie Stanley; and 2 brothers, George Haroldson, Jr. and Richard Haroldson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 3:00 P.M., Friday, March 13, 2020, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Final resting place will be at Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Glyndon, MN, at a later date.
