Robert D. Paulson, 68, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the ICU of Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.
On Thursday 09/28/17, Robert D. Paulson lost his 18-year battle with complications of stroke and diabetes. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Aberdeen, SD on December 14, 1948 to Marie Paulson Reck and Donald Paulson. The family moved several times before making their home in Fargo, ND.
Robert graduated from Shanley High School in 1967 and soon after started working at BNSF as a bridge inspector. He worked there until 1998 when a debilitating stroke ended his career.
Bob was married to Nancy and later to Linda. They divorced. At that time Robert met his future fiance, Krystyna. They stayed together until Bob’s death.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, newborn son and sister, Renee Alsop.
Bob is survived by his fiancé, Krystyna Krupa; daughter, Bobbie Jean Paulson; brother-in-law, Richard Alsop; nephews, Andrew Jessica Alsop and James Alsop and by his friends at Sanford Dialysis in Fargo. He also left behind his German Shepherd, Maya, who loves him with all her heart.
Robert was a gentle, loving and very strong-willed man. He spent a lot of his time in Sanford Hospital, but always fought to come home. He made friends with his doctors and nurses. They always took excellent care of him, especially his ICU nurses, Lauren and Mary. Thank you to all the personnel at Sanford Hospital, North Campus. You made his life so much easier and at times you truly saved his life.
Robert will be missed greatly by his family and friends and especially by his fiancé who took care of him for 17 years and who loves him very much.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Robert’s wish was to spread his ashes around his favorite place, Medora, ND, which will take place at a later date.
