Veran Adrian Kapaun

Veran Adrian Kapaun, 77, of Fargo, ND, passed away on July 1, 2020, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, surrounded by his family.

Veran was born on December 21, 1942, in Valley City, ND. The son of Veran J. and Audrey E. (Lee) Kapaun. They moved from Nome, ND, to Fargo, where he attended school and graduated from Fargo Central High School in June of 1961. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and served in Victorville, CA, and St. John’s New Foundland. After his service, he returned to Fargo and joined the NDANG and served for 23 years upon retiring. He married the love of his life, Barbara L. Eberhardt on January 25, 1963, in Fargo, ND.

Veran and Barb lived in Fargo where Veran worked at J.C. Penny’s and PJ Guard. He joined St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo as a plumber in plant operations. He continued working there under Meritcare Medical Center until his retirement in April of 2006.

Veran loved motorcycling, bowling, and golf. He was a member of the Hawley, MN, Hackers and had many friends there.

Veran is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Veran A. (Staci Lee) Kapaun Jr.; and best of all, his grandson, Matthew Veran Kapaun, Kindred, ND; brother, Jan Kapaun, Osakis, MN; and sister, Marilyn “Cookie”.

Veran is preceded in death by his parents, Veran and Audrey; brother, Mitchell B. Kapaun; and many aunts and uncles.

Veran’s family would like to extend their gratitude to his friends at Hawley Golf Club and best friend, Gary Hanson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at 10:00 A.M., at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
