Adam Nordin has been a licensed funeral director with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since January 2006. He grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, graduating from Thief River Falls High School in 1998. Adam attended the University of North Dakota from 1998 to 2002. Adam earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 2003 from the University of Minnesota.
Adam worked for Joseph S. Klecatsy & Sons Funeral Service in South St. Paul, West St. Paul and Eagan for two years before joining our staff.
Adam is a member of the Moorhead Rotary Club, the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Adam, his wife, Wendy, and their daughter, Wylie, live in Moorhead.
Bailey has been a funeral director with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since December 2014. Born and raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 2000. He received an A.A. from Northland Community and Technical College before earning a B.A. from the University of North Dakota in 2004. After working as a marketing professional in the Phoenix, Arizona area he went back to school and earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science from Mesa Community College in 2014. He has served on the Board of Directors for Haven Midwest, a non-profit organization that supports families that have lost children. He is also a member of the Moorhead Business Association, Minnesota Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Bailey lives in West Fargo with his wife, Sarah, and their three children. Bailey enjoys a number of activities in his spare time, including playing golf and hockey as well as spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
Lisa Grossman has been a funeral director with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since September 2008. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo South High School in 2005. Lisa attended Southern Illinois University from 2005-2006 and received her B.S. Degree in Mortuary Science in 2008 from the University of Minnesota.
Lisa is a member of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Lisa, her husband, Mike, and their two children live in Fargo. In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with family, (especially her two young children), attending their activities and events, and traveling.
Melissa has been a funeral director with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since September 2013. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1987 and earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Moorhead State University in 1992. For the next 17 years Melissa was employed by Clay County Social Services, and she returned to college in 2010 to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science. Melissa earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado in September 2013.
Nick Sellers has been a licensed funeral director with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since July 2016. He grew up and attended school in Watertown, South Dakota. Nick earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from South Dakota State University in 2011. He also received a B.S. in Mortuary Science in 2013 from the University of Minnesota.
Nick worked for Roper and Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska from 2013 to 2016 before joining Wright Funeral Home.
Nick, his wife Renee, and their three kids live in Horace, North Dakota. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and lifting weights at the gym.
Steve Wright is the fourth generation of the Wright family to operate Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, Minnesota, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1977. Steve earned a B.S. Degree in Mortuary Science in 1983 from the University of Minnesota. After spending a few years working in funeral service in the Twin Cities metro area, he returned to Moorhead in 1985.
Steve, his brother, Chip, and their father, Edgar, purchased the Vigen Funeral Home in Hawley and Lake Park, Minnesota in 1987. Steve and Chip bought their father, Edgar's, interest in 1992 with Steve taking over as president of the firm. Following Chip's sudden death in 2003, Steve became the sole owner.
Over the years, Steve has served on the boards of directors of the Minn-Kota Chapter of the Red Cross, Hospice of the Red River Valley, Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, Greater Moorhead Development Corporation, Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Service Corporation, as well as serving on the Church Council at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, and on the City of Moorhead Charter Commission and the Citizen's Advisory Committee.
Steve and his wife, Leann, have two grown children who are currently attending graduate school.
Ron Ritter has been with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since 2008. He was born in Fargo, North Dakota, but grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1964. Ron spent 38 years working for the City of Moorhead’s Waste Water Treatment Plant until his retirement in 2008.
Ron married his wife, Susan, in 1968. Together they have two children, Bill (Cheryl) Ritter of Dilworth, Minnesota, and Jennifer (Jody) Dahl of Shakopee, Minnesota, and four grandchildren. Ron is an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead where he faithfully serves in many capacities. In his spare time, Ron enjoys gardening, riding a motorcycle, and spending time outdoors.
Owen Lee has been with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since 2012. An Audubon native, Owen has spent most of his life in Moorhead, where he raised his family. Owen served in the Army Security Agency with duty in Tokyo and Okinawa. He continues to operate Owen Lee and Associates, a commercial real estate business focusing mainly on hotels and motels. Owen married his wife, Dora (Haugen), on November 16, 1963, at Strandvik Lutheran Church near Lake Park. They raised three sons, Kevin, Jon, and Joel. Sadly, Jon died on July 1, 1996. They also have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Owen and Dora were active members of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead for many years and are currently members at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo. In their spare time, they love traveling to be with their sons and their families.
Dave Brenna has been with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since 2012. He was born in Northwood, North Dakota. After graduating from Hatton High School in 1962, he attended college for two years before joining the U.S. Army, where he served one year in Vietnam. After returning home, Dave worked in the retail business for nine years before returning to college at Minnesota State University to finish his degree in Finance and Business Administration in 1977. Dave then began his career in the banking industry, where he served for 30 years at First National Bank in Hawley until his retirement in 2010.
Dave married his wife, Judy, in 1966. Together they had three children, Michael (Jennifer) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, twins Jason (Nicki) Brenna of Savage, Minnesota, and Jeff (Tiffany) of Elk River Minnesota. They also have seven grandchildren. Dave and Judy live on Turtle Lake and are members of Hawley Lutheran Church. In his spare time, Dave enjoys being a broker for Great Hawley Homes, fishing on Turtle Lake and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Angie has been serving families as a Funeral Celebrant since becoming a Certified Celebrant in 2018, following training with Insight Institute. She continues to serve as a funeral assistant and is often asked to serve as a soloist for funerals.
As a Celebrant, she has provided much needed support for people seeking meaningful, substantive, and personal funerals without the help of traditional clergy or church. These services have been religious or not religious, spiritual or just celebrating life. She is a great answer for people who know they want to celebrate a life but just aren’t sure what that might look like.
Angie has been with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since 2015. A Moorhead native, she graduated from Concordia College with a degree in vocal performance and from MSUM with a degree in vocal music education. Angie is active in the area as a performer and teacher. She works with Trollwood Performing Arts School and Moorhead High School as a vocal director and has a private voice studio. Angie also works at Trinity Lutheran Church as a choir director and worship leader.
Angie has been married to Brian Schulz since 1994, and they have three daughters, Amie, Sarah, and Sophie.
Myron Bowar has been with Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service since 2016. Myron grew up on a farm in the small community of Dimock, South Dakota, and graduated from Parkston High School. He then attended a junior college in Iowa, where he wrestled and played baseball. After college, Myron pursued a career in the automotive industry as a manufacturer’s sales representative. He was able to stay in this industry for 35 years, selling auto parts and meeting new customers until his retirement in 2015.
Myron married his wife, Joan, in 1981 at St. Joseph’s Church in Moorhead. Myron and Joan also have four children. Nicholas and his wife, Steph, live in Rogers, Minnesota. Matthew and his wife, Megan, live in West Fargo. Katie and her husband, Trent Wise, live in Moorhead. Katie’s twin sister, Kayla, and her husband, Chad Dewey, live in Moorhead. Myron and Joan have twelve grandchildren.
Wayne Graff has been with Wright Funeral Home since 2018. Born and raised in Stanley, North Dakota, he spent two years in the Army with the 12th Cavalry, serving 18 months in Germany. He received his B.A. in Management Science at MSUM in Moorhead and worked for PepsiCo for over 38 years. Wayne was married for 20 years and has three married children, Ben and Lindsay, Newnan, Georgia, Andy and Mandie, Dallas, Georgia, and Ashley and Lloyd, Fort Myers, Florida, as well as two granddaughters and five grandsons. He enjoys golf, biking, and most of all, spending time with his family. Wayne was a member of Triumph Lutheran in Moorhead when his kids were growing up and is currently a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Sue Christensen started working for Wright Funeral Home in 2016. Sue was born in Hawley, Minnesota, and has lived there most of her life. She graduated from Hawley High School and went on to college to become a nurse. She changed her career path and went on to work for Rapat Corporation in Hawley, Minnesota, for 35 years until retiring in 2016. Sue married her high school sweetheart David Christensen in 1966. Sue and Dave have three children, Chad, John, and Kara, and five grandchildren. Sue is a member of Hawley Lutheran Church and has been an active member of the Hawley community. Sue enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, being at the lake, and reading.
David Christensen has been with Wright Funeral Home since 2018. Dave was born in Moorhead, Minnesota, and has lived in Hawley most of his life. He graduated from Hawley High School and attended Fergus Falls Community College. Dave went to work for Pepsico in 1979 and remained there until his retirement in 2016. Dave is a member of the Hawley Lutheran Church and has been involved in several service organizations. Dave married his high school sweetheart in 1966, and they have three children, Chad, John, and Kara. They also have five grandchildren. Dave enjoys traveling, napping, the lake, being with family, and anything outdoors.
Mike Young has been with Wright Funeral Home since 2019. He grew up in Breckenridge, Minnesota, where he graduated from high school. He received an associate's degree from NDSCS and then his bachelor’s in accounting from MSUM in 1983. He was an accountant for Community Living Services in Fargo for 30 years. Mike and his wife Sherry have a daughter Caitlin and a son Josh, both of Moorhead. They have been active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead for over 30 years. Mike enjoys fishing, visiting national parks, and spending time at the lake.
